I need to copy avi files to DVDs in Windows. What's the best compression format to use, zip or rar?
Or, are avi files already compressed so much that any further compression would be largely redundant? Thanks! |

Worth bearing in mind that encoding an AVI to a more compressed format will inevitably result in some loss of quality which can not be recovered by converting back to AVI.
If your intention is to archive precious movies this needs to be considered. |
