Default Rescuing .wma files that lost their DRM rights

When the free download site Spiralfrog.com folded, all of the legal downloads from them lost their DRM rights and no longer play. I've tried various players and converters (including SoundTaxi, FairUse4WM and AnalogWhole), but nothing tried thus far will play the files - all these apps require authentication; ET tries phoning home to a nonexistent site and quits. Most frustrating. (The reason I'd hate to give up on these downloads is that EMI had made their entire library of digitized recordings available for free through Spitalfrog, a literal treasure trove of music going back to the dawn of sound recordings. Most of what I downloaded are recordings long deleted from the catalog and unlikely to be reissued.)

Does anyone know of an app, combination of apps or a procedure that will allow me to gain access to these audio files (and preferably allow converting them to MP3)? Naturally, with the Copyright Police lurking around every corner, I'm certainly not looking to get anyone in trouble - but, after all, these things had been legally acquired.

Thanks.
