I'm using WMP 10 on XP-Home and like it, mainly because it's part of the OS, so is lighter than the 3rd party media-players. Are there any advantages to using WMP 11 or should I just keep using WMP 10? Oh, I only use WMP 10 for watching downloaded movies and also online movies.

think it is smoother streaming videos :S and has newer codec support too
I just like how 11 looks more than 10 but I use media player classic or kmplayer normally. The only thing i use wmp is to burn music cd/dvd since its nice and fast. |

I have just given up on media player. On 3 different computers with 2 different systems it has NEVER worked correctly for me. It always seems too complicated. Some of the features never work and when I add an album or folder of tunes to the now playing list it never puts them into the correct order without sorting and resorting. This goes for any version of media player.KM player is now my default.

If you do install 11 but don't like it and want to roll back to 10 you might find this page useful [if you haven't read it already]. Scroll down to the bit about 'Rolling back to a previous version of the Player'
It can be a bit of a pain to roll back WMP. |
