Creating an HD DVD

I need help creating an HD DVD.
I'm trying to get an HD video I have (MKV file) into a DVD.
The problem is: A normal DVD won't be able to take this giant 4.4gb file.
So I'm planning to make an HD DVD

BUUT I do not have the knowledge to create an HD DVD.
So, can anybody help me with my problem?

Also, I don't want a Blu-ray disk. I heard you need a specific hardware to make a Blu-Ray.
