I have been struggling through the process of making a movie with this software for quite some time now, but have been moving slowly along. Now, however, I have hit a wall. I get a green bar on the bottom of my published video. I have read around for quite some time, and the solutions all involve the compatability of the Xvid codec. I am told to tick the compatability renderer button in Xvid, and this will fix my bar. One problem, movie maker is not rendering with Xvid, it is rendering with Divx, which has the same problem, but no fix. I just need to know how to get the Xvid decoder to show up in the filters section in movie maker, but this is impossible to find on google. If anyone knows how to do this, your help would be much appreciated.

Hello Kortantic
I stopped using movie maker a long time ago because I have found some very good free alternatives. One that I use is virtualdub however their are others such as formatfactory. As for xvid it is a application for the use of the Xvid codec. you can read here for a more comprehensive explanation. It can be downloaded from here. The attachment shows the configuration menu you were referring to. There is a encoder and a decoder configuration application that is installed with Xvid. Hope this helps. Cheers Wdhpr |
