Hi, The quality when converting to a lossy format will degrade, how much depends on the resolution of your monitor (as your going from 1920x1080 down to something like 720x480). For conversion, I personally prefer MediaCoder better than the others, its a bit intimidating but it has many options, There are also recommendations by our category editor for video conversions here: http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...on-program.htm Once you have that up and running, try these settings for conversion and size; Resize video to 720x480 Switch from multi channel to Stereo H.264 @ 800-900 kpbs Mpeg Layer-2 Audio @ 128-256 kbps Set the containter to either .avi or .mp4 p.s. While I wont/probably can't post it here, 700 Mb is also a trait of a certain now inactive bitorrenter, a Google search will bring up what he uses. Last edited by ColbaltFire; 16. You will definitely loose quality if you go from HD (I assume the movies are 1080p) to a 700 MB sized movie. That is CD size. DVD movie extracts are usuall about 4.5 GB.
However, I suggest to convert them to a 720p HD mkv format. You will go below 4 GB and still have a nice quality. A good site to go to for video questions is videohelp.com.
