@ Sope ... yes it is a great little mp3 player, it's pretty basic to look at but it's the sound that it produces that matters, I think... and all the features for such a small program.
@ Anupam ... got the manual now, don't know how I missed it, so thanks again for that. I do like trying them all out, mainly the audio ones, and I've used the ones mentioned at various times. It's not that I lack disc space or resources, I just prefer the smaller apps with a simple GUI.. providing the sound is good. I use RadioSure for internet radio, I love the radio, and that provides me with pretty much everything I need. It states that it has over 12,000 stations to choose from but I have to say that they don't all connect, however there are easily more that do than I'll ever use, I just favourite the ones I like. I used to use Spider Player but found that in the later versions the radio station search became a bit buggy... it's still good though, maybe it's improved now. I have the free version of Spotify also, although I know it's not available in some other countries, and the amount of music on there is incredible.. if you don't mind the odd advert. The only thing with Spotify is that it stores the files locally on your drive, you can adjust the ammount of space permitted for that but if your disc space is limited you need to keep an eye on it. That's my one exception as far as 'bloat' goes, but on the other hand it does reduce the temptation to go downloading anything and everything,.. sometimes just for the sake of it. A small program that does the job is fine by me, if it can record that's even better. Cheers. deya |

Well, without straying off topic too much, it's a shame that Spotify is only available in about six countries at the moment... and when I say bloat, I mean it can run up a big storage file, if you let it. The max you can allow is 100GB, the auto setting is 25% of your disc space. I set it to only 1GB but delete it once in a while and start again. The actual program takes up less than 2MB on disc, and it uses very low resources.
It's back to invitation only here, now. I reckon they just couldn't cope if they made it available everywhere. It would be nice if they could incorperate a tiny program like 1by1 into it to give the sound a bit of oomph! ;-) deya |

I have been using 1by1 for a little less than a year. Very simple and light weight. I have a ton of open source screen savers that enhance the music experience. Because 1by1 is so light on resources I can enjoy the visuals with out interruptions.
I also use VLC which is also a simple light weight music/video player VLC also has a portable version. Of course I use media player classic for my video's and KmPlayer to watch my DVD's. Many people may not agree but windows media player is actually a fair to good media player. It just has too many bells and whistles for my taste. No matter, its all good with a glass of wine and some Pink Floyd ![]() Cheers Wdhpr |

Do you mean display currrent title of the song being played, and time etc ?
Click on 'settings' at the top of the player.. from the settings window click on the 'big view' tab .... check the box for either 'embedded top' or 'embedded bottom' (you can only select one of them at a time)... the info will then display. If that's the info you mean ? |
