Anyone know how to make subtitles work in KMplayer? I have to revert to WinMediaPlayer just to view films with subtitles
![]() KMplayer doesn't seem able to handle .sub or .idx subtitle files, you can load them OK but nothing happens. Last edited by chris.p; 13. Oct 2009 at 07:51 PM. |

I, um, err, ah... I messed up. Just installed KMplayer (for vids) and XMplayer (for audio) and got the names mixed up. Sorry.
It's KMplayer I can't get subs to work on. If you Open the sub files using the menu at bottom right it tells you they have loaded - but they don't run. Subtitle files aren't recognised anyway according to the 'all known files' message. Really annoying. The player is better than Windows Media Player because it always plays any format, regardless. No quibbles, no stupid 'no codec' messages, it just plays the stuff. But without subtitles I can't watch those Swedish vampire SF love story gore films properly. Major loss. |

Ah OK, so you were talking about KMPlayer. Maybe the file types you selected for the subtitles, KMPlayer does not support that. You should look for that problem on their forum, or maybe post your problem there.
I have not been using KMPlayer for some time, using VLC. But, I intend to use KMPlayer very soon. I have downloaded the latest version 1435. So, I am afraid I can't help you at the moment. VLC also does not support .idx and .sub files. .srt works quite well.

These links might help you out
.http://www.robelix.com/sub2srt/ How to use the program on Windows is given here: http://www.robelix.com/sub2srt/win_install/ http://dranaxum.wordpress.com/2007/1...srt-converter/ You may find these links more helpful though... they tell how to convert .sub to .srt using Vobsub, or Subresynch(part of Vobsub). Saw it mentioned on several forums. http://forum.videohelp.com/topic219201.html http://www.ehow.com/how_5019268_chan...e-sub-srt.html http://subscene.com/forums/t/34877.aspx
