I use both Carbon Copy Cloner
http://www.bombich.com/ and SuperDuper with great success. Both offer robust options, but are easy to use. You need to check out both of them for what you want to do. - CCC is free while SuperDuper has free and paid versions. Last edited by Anupam; 03. May 2010 at 10:16 PM. Reason: Restored original content minus the link for SuperDuper |

I could not find any free version of SuperDuper on its site. Can you please provide a proper place where the free version is mentioned? If its not free, I am afraid, will have to remove its mention, and the link, as we are strictly "freeware" forum.

I use SuperDuper to make disk to disk copies on Mac's all the time. I always thought it was free for basic functionality but pay for advanced features. A quick look at their website and I find this on the right hand side bar -
You can download SuperDuper! v2.6.2 right now and back up and clone your drives for free— forever! and this near the bottom of the page - Give SuperDuper a workout on your own system. Clone to your heart's content — for free. See what else is possible. When you're convinced that SuperDuper is a terrific solution — and a great value at $$ — you can register right from the application and start using its advanced features immediately! Certainly not fully free, but the "clone forever" part lends me to believe that at least that portion of the software qualifies.

Thanks freedog. So, it seems like backup and cloning are free. Its still not very clear though. I have sent an email to the SuperDuper site for more clarification on this. Lets see. Thanks again.
