If your ip is not showing press control - alt - T which opens the Terminal in Ubuntu or in puppy you can either open a Terminal window from the desktop or menu-utilities type a command {be sure to click on open in terminal}. You can also got to menu=utilities-Terminal emulator. Note-if you want to set up a keystroke command to open the Terminal Emulator right click on the icon in the desktop and follow the instructions there, very easy. Almost forgot :} The command is ifconfig as compared to ipconfig in windows. If you add the /all switch you can check out the whole network. |
