Thanks, MC, we try to look into users issues and give all suggestions a fair shot and look for ourselves if it's possible to improve users experience with Netrunner. We actually think that both Gnome and KDE have their strength and weaknesses, and if something really proves to be more advanced at that point in time, we are not shy to switch things between those two DE's if integration works overall well (like in this case).

Something this good should stand out much more than this and deserves better treatment.
Of course, it's always a matter of taste, but if you really want to change that maybe look here:

(and possibly post what you would have chosen as default if you had decided)

Thanks for responding again

You're right of course about taste which I guess is why more silver and black cars get sold than red ones.

I really like design #131 because I prefer the text overlay but no doubt half the world thinks differently

Version 4.0 is now released with some substantial improvements including a desktop that looks just like Windows 7 (see their screenshots). Zorin of course went down this road but the KDE implementation of Netrunner is much better.

Although my mobile broadband was recognised out of the box, no way that I could figure to connect with DSL even after installing pppoe. Still, I've posted in their forum so lets see what comes back.
