Default Any One ever see a website like this?

This is quite unique. I don't really know how he did it. Any ideas? http://kendalltristan.com/

I thought at first it was a mistake or something, but if you cd into directories you actually are following links. It is quite interesting.

If you are not familiar with how to use terminal these commands will help you "use" this website.

See what is available to look at.

Hey, that's interesting. I thought it was an online version of Linux Command... but if you cd to Linux_Mint, it brings you to Mint's homepage.

Different, but not very appealing to the likes of MC who wants to see words and pictures

I've actually seen this before last year at xkcd's 2010 April fool's joke. It would seems that the CLI theme is getting more and more popular. Just so anyone asks, xkcd is a webcomic.

xkcd's terminal can be found at http://uni.xkcd.com/

It's rather fun to play with, you can even try some terminal commands and they work!

Try:
logout
sudo poweroff
ls
make me a sandwich
sudo make me a sandwich
cheat
help
unixkcd
cat
man cat
pwd
go west
go south
su
sudo rm -rf /
rm welcome.txt
and etc...

Just reload the page if something bad happens, especially if you try sudo rm -rf / or get eaten by the grue.

To find any other CLI websites, google "please turn on javascript or try the gui" or click http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&sa...&aqi=&aql=&oq=

Have fun!

You can rm directories and such too. It has the apt-get command but only "apt-get update", or "apt-get upgrade" do anything it seems. The latter command gives a humorous message.

I took a look at the underlying code, and it is pretty cool. A bit of javascript, html, and css, and a lot of creativity.

Not before you get

An internal error occured: [Exception... "" nsresult: "0x805e000a (<unknown>)" location: "JS frame :: http://kendalltristan.com/xkcd_cli_all.js :: anonymous :: line 29" data: no]
And if you're on Firefox, it will tell you that a webpage has asked to redirect, etc.

Never seen sth like this before, certainly not a site for everyone.

Strange none of the rest of us got a java script error, and using Firefox I did not get any redirect message.

I don't suppose he intended it to be a site for everyone. It is meant to be a novelty for Linux users who are familiar with the command line.
