You can read the history of Pardus here:
http://www.osor.eu/studies/a-new-kid...x-distribution And if you think the repository is to small you can add some more here: http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/in...18496#msg18496 But since the release they have increased the repo much more to with some major updates. This Wiki can be of help to: http://pardus-wiki.org/ |

This is good news.
From what I've been reading on here and other forums, Pardus just looks like a well thought out operating system. It also looks like its quickly putting concerns to rest as far as its repository is concerned. |

There is a bug in the Network Manager now which wasn't there when I first used this. I've raised it on their forum and been offered a couple of "maybe" fixes which are beyond only average users like me, especially if they can't connect in the first place
I'm not sure if this might be system specific but it looks to be confined to wireless cards. I really need to change mine out for something simpler since I no longer use a router due to the local tendency here for power surges to leak into the net cables and blow either card or router. Cards are a tenth of the cost of routers which rather determines policy ![]() I would also add that my machine exhibits the same issue with the latest versions of Suse and Kubuntu too. Everything Gnome based connects however you abuse it, and older KDE's like Mandirva 2010 and PCLinuxOS also buzz away quite happily. The test version of Mageia is also fine but maybe they've not used the new components?

That bug is noticed here:
http://bugs.pardus.org.tr/show_bug.cgi?id=16436 Its possible to add some comments there and describe the problem. I am sure they will solve it in time. |

Thanks again for this other link. I agree with the author that Pardus would surely be much more popular if only it had a fraction of the marketing thrown at it as other distros. After my experience with the network manager issues in Pardus though I'm going to wait until the Mageia final is released on 1st June before doing any more experimentation. Currently I have Mandriva 2010.2 dual booted with W7 and apart from the odd sound driver error message it's faultless so I'm leaving well alone
