You will need to download the correct driver (Linux) for your printer from here:

http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010419.asp

Never download a driver from a site other than direct from the original manufacturer!

You then need to install the driver, please see this for more info:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CanonCaptDrv190

Hope this helps!!

Have you alreadt tried just pluging it in? Many canon printers are automatically recongized in Ubuntu.

If that does not work download the driver as torres suggests. Here is a direct link to the download page. Look at the very bottom for the dowload link. http://software.canon-europe.com/sof...567.asp?model=

One you have the file downloaded extract the contents somewhere, then open the folder, and choose the 32-bit folder (heres me hopeing you installed Ubuntu 32bit) under the 32-bit folder choose Debian folder, and then double click the file cndrvcups-common_2.20-1_i386.deb first. The package installer will launch, then you click install. After the "common" package is installed, install the second file "cndrvcups-capt_2.20-1_i386.deb using the same procedure.

If all goes well then your printer should work. If you have problems Make notes on any error messages you encounter.

p.s. FYI the extention ".deb" obviously stands for Debian. Debian is the base distribution upon which Ubuntu is built. If you can find a .deb file for anything which you wish to install, usually you will be able to install it with no problems in Ubuntu.
