You can get Windows 7's Aero Snap function to work for Ubuntu 9.10.
I've done some settings following the steps and it works well. Compizconfig-settings-manager and wmctrl are needed to have installed. With my LCD screen resolution at 1440 x 900, I changed the settings as follows: Command Line 0: wmctrl -r :ACTIVE: -e 0,0,0,714,850 Command Line 1: wmctrl -r :ACTIVE: -e 0,720,0,714,850 Command Line 2: wmctrl -r :ACTIVE: -e 0,0,0,1440,850 BTW, the columns in Workspace Switcher need to set to 1, otherwise it will go to workspace 2 when the window is dragged to the right. Have a good try.
