Opera 10 Release Candidate is now available for download!

Some of these customisations require a little knowledge regarding the default locations of files etc. but none of it is difficult if you follow the instructions.

Actually the customisations I've suggested have been around quite some time but still work well when applied to this latest version (for instance the flashblocker zip folder actually contains specific files to be used with the different versions of Opera including 10)

There are many more mods possible and plenty of advice out there regarding customisation once you start looking. I find Opera quite interesting in this regard. Having said that, I guess it's still unlikely to win over a Firefox devotee with a huge collection of extensions.
Being an average home user, I find Opera has virtually all the features I need built in as standard, and with just a little bit of customisation I'm happy. The biggest plus for me is the built-in email client

I knew about a few of the customizations, I'm glad you added the ones you like.
Firefox is my main browser, sure, but its not uncommon for me to have one or two other browsers running at least part of the day, usually Opera and Safari.
I especially like Opera though. I love the paste and go feature - why the other browsers don't have that built in I don't know but I think they should. I like the way it handles downloads. I love the side panel, another one of those things I think all browsers need.

That's one thing that I find annoying not to have when I try other browsers. It seems I use it all the time

The other thing I can't live without in Opera is quick single click access to loading images. I'm on a really tight download limit so I generally have it set to load cached images only until I get somewhere I want them all to load and then CLICK, it's done

Both good features. Firefox has a paste and go button as part of the Toolbar Buttons extension, and there's a search and go extension that adds a button. I use both. The paste and go button is the closest thing I've found to Opera's built in feature.

I haven't been impressed with Opera and I have the latest, but not the beta10. There are many functions it doesn't have that FF gives me sadly. I shall be upgrading later just to check it out

Opera 10 final has been released. Opera 10.10 will be coming soon, which will include the Unite services, which makes Opera a web server too, to share files, chat, and other thing.

Would it be possible for editors here to create an article on opera customization? Some of the links listed here can be somewhat confusing for the opera beginner.
