Opera 10 Release Candidate is now available for download!
If you're new to Opera, and interested in added security or increased functionality, here's a couple of links/recommendations to get you started :- Opera Wiki (customization and tips) Custom buttons (e.g. javascript on/off ; open in IE or Firefox) FlashBlocker Fanboy's Adblocking list DropMyRights Some of these customisations require a little knowledge regarding the default locations of files etc. but none of it is difficult if you follow the instructions. Have fun! ![]() PS. When I wanted to use custom icons with my added custom buttons I found the info on this site very useful to get me started - http://www.aimwell.org/Help/Buttons/buttons.html Last edited by Sope; 28. There are many more mods possible and plenty of advice out there regarding customisation once you start looking. I find Opera quite interesting in this regard. Having said that, I guess it's still unlikely to win over a Firefox devotee with a huge collection of extensions. Being an average home user, I find Opera has virtually all the features I need built in as standard, and with just a little bit of customisation I'm happy. The biggest plus for me is the built-in email client

Firefox is my main browser, sure, but its not uncommon for me to have one or two other browsers running at least part of the day, usually Opera and Safari. I especially like Opera though. I love the paste and go feature - why the other browsers don't have that built in I don't know but I think they should. I like the way it handles downloads. I love the side panel, another one of those things I think all browsers need.

![]() The other thing I can't live without in Opera is quick single click access to loading images. I'm on a really tight download limit so I generally have it set to load cached images only until I get somewhere I want them all to load and then CLICK, it's done

Opera 10 final has been released. Opera 10.10 will be coming soon, which will include the Unite services, which makes Opera a web server too, to share files, chat, and other thing.
