I need a tool that blocks the net or at least tells me when I've exceeded my usage limit having support for timings(such as not counting data at some specified time). I do not need fancy graphs. Is there such a tool?

Ok found out that networx has timing support. Trying it out but seems a great tool.

Netmeter seems to give wrong upload info on vista. was uploading at 60kb using ftp yet it was jumping to the 200KB mark when i only have 130KB upload max

A unique feature of NetWorx, not mentioned anywhere, is the ability to measure on-peak and off-peak traffic separately. I've been looking for this feature for some time. Very useful for countries like Australia where ISPs limit peak and off-peak traffic.

Is there a program where you can specify where to save and read your bandwidth information? So I can use the same file for my dual-boot system instead of having to look at one, then the other, and do math.

You can backup/restore your reports on/from your hard drive with NetWorx, if that's what you mean.

I mean I want a program where I can specify where to save the bandwidth information that it gathers, so I can specify the same location for each operating system, so it's easier to see my overall used bandwidth instead of the bandwidth for each partition.

I am "limited" by my ISP (uploads and downloads = to a certain number of GBs each month). I have two PCs fed by a wireless router with Bitmeters installed on both PCs. The Bitmeter daily U/D stats don't fit the ISP monthly billing stats BY A LOT. What does Bitmeter measure and what does my ISP measure that they bill me for? Is it possible that they don't measure the same thing? I would like to use my bitmeter .CSV files to dispute my ISP monthly over-usage bills but I need to understand both measures.
Any thoughts, insights?

hy . i have been looking for a meter to monitor my usage, as i am on limmited wireless 3 gb.. i have not found one that works yet. some , like netmeter, register severall thousand times more than you are actually using.thay seem to get mixed up with kb,s and mb,s and redgister mb,s instead of kb,s. have just tryed bitmeter , but it doesnt give your actual u/d load count. unless you go into whare it is saved, and mine registered , after 20 minutes, 56 kb. while net meter hade 7 mb,s. i think netmeter is milles too high, and bitmeter is miles too low.. i am still looking. for one that actually works,

i am now answering myself.. just tested networx and freemeter,, thay are registering miles too mutch,, a wast of space,
