Default Mozilla Firefox 9.0

Well, its release time for Firefox again.

Mozilla Firefox 9.0 will be released tomorrow, that is, 20th December, Tuesday.

But, it has started to appear on download sites. Those who want to get it early can get from the download site, or from the FTP repository of Mozilla itself.

Getting the update from Mozilla when Mozilla actually releases the update is the wise thing to do. Getting it from here or there just to get the update 25 minutes earlier is not a good practice as it can lead to erroneous installations. Just my opinion.

@ Bo: You're right! Out of curiosity, I went to Mozilla's ftp site (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/) to download version 9 and they have blocked it with a message

Can't blame them since they don't want people to hog their bandwidth. No problem can wait

Or, they might have encountered a problem with release, and decided to push it forward

Because, its odd that they would display such a message for their FTP repository.

Works fine.

Successfully upgraded.

@ JL: I also got the "incorrect beta page". Guessing that's okay.

I don't think Firefox has been released officially yet. The Firefox page still shows 8.0.1, whereas it should show Firefox 9, if it has been released, since it was scheduled for release today.

I wonder if they pulled it back, or pushed the date further for some reason.

I've just updated via internal updater, so official version now available by Mozilla.
