Talking Getting back the "old" Google homepage

Not exactly a huge fan of Google Instant or the newly designed page...

Perhaps you might even call me old fashioned.

Switching your browser user agent to an older browser brings back the old Google page. For example: I changed the user agent to "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; ; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.9.0" - That's Firefox 1.9.0 and voila! I was able to switch back to the old page (Google search, news and images).

Probably, most of you would have meddled around with these settings. To make things even easier, this Firefox addon (UAControl) makes it easier to control what user agent you would like to send for different sites

Now whenever I open Google, it defaults to the "old" look.

Just for the fun of it, I blocked the user agent and went to facebook and got this "funny" message:

I don't see it. What's the URL?

Looks like a mobile version to me.

@ JL: I've set my home page to "http://www.google.com/ncr" rather than "google.co.in" or whatever your local google page would be.

Should have mentioned that earlier

I ran across the new design too when I was using a VPN. They must be rolling it out to just certain regions.

Found that occurring on Internet Explorer 9, but not the latest Firefox; which is weird.
