Thanks Anupam

Just installed this manually into Kororaa lInux. This is a W7 dual boot installation and I swapped out the existing Linux and replaced it with Kororaa a few days ago. All I had to date was the latest (updated) Firefox which is included by default. Opera is certainly faster, definitely smoother and uses less memory than Firefox. The OperaAdblock is much more effective than the NoAds extension I used previously and all I need in the way of extensions is there too. The only downside is not all of our site editing features will work with Opera.

Sorry if I misunderstood your meaning of site editing MC. but would this not help overcome the problems you are experiencing with Opera and editing. Link for Dragonfly http://www.opera.com/dragonfly/

Thanks for that. With Opera standard it's certainly our editing spellchecker that throws up a "not supported by Opera" message and there may possibly be deeper features MC's tiny mind hasn't yet found a need for

If using Opera standard and you are having problems with spell-check compatibility, maybe this would solve the problem. but only a guess . go to opera:config from address bar, search for spellcheck and turn it off, and save. worth a go if still does not work just change back

No, this isn't the integral spellcheck which works fine, it's the service which operates with our own site editor, Drupal.

It continually improves with each release, this new version is running perfect for me. I still can't quite fathom out why it's not more popular, it's very light on resources, runs great on old and new machines alike, and without all the extra processes the other browsers use now.

I think it's the best of the bunch at the moment.

Just something I gleamed of a very experienced Opera user while talking to him today about your issue with Opera and Drupal. You might want to suggest that the users on that forum try masking Opera as Firefox. I'm guessing someone put a block on Opera in their text editor a decade back and then forgot to remove it.... Can give instructions if needed. Hope this is of some help MC.
