I am on Windows 7, and when I start up Chrome it just goes to a white unresponsive screen with no theme. Takes a lot of time to get back to a responsive state. If i enter anything in the address bar during the hanging phase it tries to fetch it and then shows about:blank. Any help?

Especially if it has a HIPS component. I would look first at the log entries for all your security software because unless you have a pre-existing system conflict of some sort, security programs are always favorite
![]() It's also worth looking at whatever extensions you might have installed and disabling these one at a time to see if this reveals the culprit.

It seems to be a general issue with the browser, a lot of people are complaining about the same in the official google chrome help forums. Now the problem seems to be only occurring at times and not regularly, still not fixed completely.
