![]() Not too much of a problem for us home users, however companies which deploy firefox in large numbers are obviously not that pleased: http://mike.kaply.com/2011/06/23/und...porate-impact/ http://news.cnet.com/8301-1001_3-200...focus-of-ours/ I just wonder whether it is wise to for Asa Dotzler to make a comment like "Enterprise has never been (and I’ll argue, shouldn’t be) a focus of ours. Until we run out of people who don’t have sysadmins and enterprise deployment teams looking out for them, I can’t imagine why we’d focus at all on the kinds of environments you care so much about. Thanks for the articles Concerned User. I think Dotzler is being honest by saying
what he said. They are correct by choosing the segment of the market that they want to gear their product. They made a choice and he is just stating it. The choice might turn to be bad but choosing a segment and being honest about it, its how it should be, IMO. Bo |

@ bo: yes, he seems to be honest about the choice...
...Let's see what happens...I'm just wondering why enterprises are whining?I mean...they've got the resources...they can just disable the updates if they want to stick to older versions (like what we home users at least some of us do)... The main problem here seems to be the addons...If the addons authors keep updating the addons for nightly/aurora builds, I bet that this problem would never exist. The Register has the same article. Take a look at the picture: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/06...on_enterprise/ Mozilla's motto: "Every Browser does fast. But not every browser does good." ![]()

Like you say, they can stick to older versions, running a version or two
behind. I don't do it with browsers but, for example, I am always one version behind on my CCleaner and to this moment, I still have not updated to the latest MBAM. Bo |
