An animated gif file can show up differently in different browsers in terms of animation speed.
See this pic in BF GIF Animator. The animation speed of the Newton's Cradle image is about the same when displayed in Chrome 5 and IE8, but it seems to be much faster when shown in FF4 Beta. Any comments?

When the same animated gif file is viewed on different image viewers, the animation speed is also noticeably different. IrfanView displays an animated image with motion running faster than that displayed on Zoner Photo Studio.
So putting them together, the speed is shown approximately as below, with FF4 showing the motion at the fastest, and the last three (Zoner, Chrome and IE) are quite close. FF4 > IrfanView > Zoner Photo Studio /Chrome 5 /IE8.
