In version 4 with the new JetPack SDK, it will spare users from having to restart the browser when they install new add-ons, and like IE9, it has as a design goal to use graphics hardware acceleration wherever possible.

I've been really looking forward to seeing this new release of firefox. Regarding the tabs on top switch, I'll agree with a lot of the lifehacker commenters that it really doesn't do a whole lot for me on a purely aesthetic level. Functionally however, if removing the titlebar brings the tabs to the top edge of the screen like Chrome, and my modified Opera, I think this is a great development. As for the Jetpack SDK, I hope that this isn't going to negatively impact or limit extensions because honestly, it never bothered me that I had to restart the browser. Anyways, great news. Jojoyee, do you know if NoScript can be installed?. Does it make a mess of
existing Firefox installations?. I like to try this one out but only if it wont
mess up my FF 3.6.8.

I seldom install NoScript as some websites need the script to run.

How about your existing Firefox settings/installation, are they OK after
you installed FF4?.

Since after installing FF4, I've never gone back to FF3.x, and now surfing the net on FF4 more often than on Chrome.

I can ctrl-click through about 20 new posts/comments or more at TSA main site or the forum here at one go without any sluggishness sometimes experienced by Chrome. Save me some precious time.

FF4 is beta now, but I'm personally ok with it.

When I make an open tab into an app tab, it only exists during the session. When I close the FF and reopen it, the app tab is gone. So it's only persistent during that session? Or have I got it wrong?
