K-Meleon is not the poor sibling!

Last but not least is K-Meleon, a slimmed down cousin of Firefox that's optimized for Windows. Of the four browsers reviewed here, K-Meleon is the quickest loading and, along with Opera, the fastest for surfing. There are only a limited number of add-ons and plug-ins available, so you are pretty well limited to the features available in the standard product. If you're the type of person who prefers performance to bells and whistles, then you should definitely try K-Meleon.

I wonder if the reviewer checked out K-Meleon. It does not have thousands of extensions as does Firefox, even Flock, which can use many Firefox extensions, or even SeaMonkey, which has a lot of extensions, but it has the necessary ones, especially for security.

My default is SeaMonkey, but I use multiple browsers, including Flock, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and K-Meleon.

I have K-Meleon 1.5.4. These are the extensions that I chose:

Note that K-Meleon has the necessary addons, ones I have in the other Gecko browsers, save BetterPrivacy, but it has ClearFlash which does fill somewhat the void.

It now has an efficient, easy to use extension manager, so the difficult, often confusing to the usual end user is in the past.

Most of the essential extensions, or equivalents, are the same for all the actively developed Gecko browsers.

Switched to K-meleon recently & have been most impressed as it runs faster & smoother on my system than Opera which used to be my No1 choice. I wouldn't have known about it had it been for this site so thanks & keep up the good work.
