I agree with the result, of Gmail being on top. Gmail is really unique. It has bought a revolution in the mail services, with its different looks. Yahoo mail used to be my favorite earlier, but its now Gmail.
About GMX, does it provide independent email service like Gmail, and Yahoo? I thought it was just an email service to access mails like Gmail, yahoo at one place. If it provides independent email service of its own, then I am gonna sign up .

GMX provides its own email service and I found it very easy to use, but I also found it a bit too slow to load its fancy interface. I guess you could just use POP Peeper to read email from it, but I like GMail a bit better on the whole.

Rizar is right that GMX has its own email service, apart from being able to incorporate other mail services by its mail collector. I now log into my GMX account daily to check emails from GMX, Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo.

I'm surprised that Lycos freemail didn't even figure. I've used it (both the now-defunct UK version and the US) for several years and have been very pleased. I also use Hotmail for annoyance emails. I must say that I do not see what is so advantageous about that service (perhaps someone could enlighten me?).
Regards, Kyuzo. |

Lycos was bought by GMX. What does GMX bring to the table that Gmail doesn't? Is its mail collector different from that of Gmail? I use Gmail to collect email from several other accounts including Hotmail. It requires POP access to that account.
Besides GMX seems slower than Gmail which isn't that fast unless you use Basic Html. One thing that seems interesting is that you can associate 10 email addresses with one user account in GMX. edit: Er..Sorry Lycos wasn't bought by GMX. It just bought the caramail domain left by Lycos. Last edited by sa1; 16. Mar 2010 at 01:33 PM. |

Has anybody used GMX long enough so that I can trust it with my important emails? About the welcome thanks. But see my join date. I used to be quite active in the comments earlier but since this forum was created I have been having problems. Whenever I log into this forum, I get redirected to the main site and coming back doesn't preserve my login status. Problem has existed since that time till today. Today I found a workaround as in logging in while replying doesn't redirect you to the main site. Known issue? |
