I am at the beginning stage of starting my own business. I have a idea, i have made a appointment with my bank as they offer free mentoring service. Is there any free programs put there that can help me start up a business. Such as something to help me write up a professional looking business plan ect. At the moment i working off a note pad, writing down the things like competitors marketing strategies, so im basically looking for something to bring it all together.
Any help would be good help.. This will be my first business and im determined to make it a success

Despite what might arrive here as suggestions, I would wait until after you've been to see your bank. They should offer software and presentation advice as part of their service so it makes sense to work with something they already know and recommend.

Maybe you need outliners, or mindmaps?

Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) used to have templates for business planning (business plan, budget, presentation). I assume that they still do. They'll give you a good outline. Just be prepared to change the template it if any part doesn't strengthen your plan.
While you might want to produce one monolithic plan, you will find that you will still need to write a unique summary document for each group of people you speak to. Banks want to know they'll get their money back; potential investors want to know you'll make more money; etc

Hey guys thanks for the advice. Although software from the bank is helpfull i wanted to finish my business plan before i went to the bank. I used AllMyNotes to keep things together it helpd a lot. And a mind map software was perfect! I managed to get my ideas down, were i want to start, hopefully expand to, and so on. It was great as the business mentor wasw able to get a proper picture of my idea. Cheerz for all the help
