Default End Program Scheduler

Hi Folks,
I use DVDStyler to convert mainly .avi & .wmv files to DVD then burn to disk with Imgburn. Using the installed or portable version of DVDStyler makes no difference, their is no indication of how long it will take to complete and is rather slow. When complete, my CPU continues to run @ 100% till its stopped.
Do you know of anything that I could use to schedule it to stop. I tried Task Scheduler but is not flexible enough in its times to do it.

Hi Roderunner, welcome to the forum.

Running of CPU at 100% is odd behavior and should not happen. May I know the configuration of your machine? It may help determine, if the resources are being less for the program.

Did you try reinstalling DvdStyler? If not, do it, it might help.

And once its complete, then you can just close DvdStyler, you don't need a task scheduler for that. A task scheduler, or end program scheduler won't be any good, since it won't know when to stop the program.

See if any of other software like security programs might be interfering with its operation.

Thanks for your kind, quick reply.
My system runs perfectly (touch wood) except when using DVDStyler portable or installed version.
I have tried many dvd authoring programs and the best and easiest is DVDStyler.

I agree, DvdStyler is good, but I haven't used it in a long time.

Can you please post your PC configuration?

And I hope you are using the latest version of the program.

Your PC specs look good... should not be a problem in terms of resource usage. I notice you have a laptop and desktop both. On which one are you running DvdStyler?

You can also post the query on DvdStyler forum to see if you get any help from there regarding your issue, of high CPU usage.

As I suspected.

Try using it on the laptop and see if you get that behavior. I notice that your desktop has 64-bit AMD, but you are using 32-bit Windows on that. Maybe that's the issue.. that's the reason I can think of. I am not sure though.

Try it on laptop and see how it goes.

Just finished testing on my Laptop as image.
I looked through the link you gave re DVDStyler, found 2 entrys with same problem as me dated either 03/09/2011 or 09/03/2011 but no help at all.
P.S. I usually have DVDStyler create an .ISO to burn using ImgBurn. Will try other options.

Well, you can try posting on their forum too. See if you get any helpful reply.

Someone else here might have to say something regarding your problem. Can't think of anything else, and I have not used DvdStyler for a long time now.
