I've been looking for a programme to convert mp3s/wavs to midi.
There's a 3 year old thread about amazingmidi - is that still the only option ? Thanks. heronviewer. Last edited by Anupam; 27. Sep 2011 at 05:13 PM. Reason: Corrected azmidi to amazingmidi |

Yes, according to this thread, which I think you are talking about, converting wav/mp3 to midi is difficult, and so freeware options are almost nil. There was a freeware suggested in the last post. Did you try that?

It can do what it says.
I converted an mp3 in to a wav - 16 bit 44.100 Hz as required - and then converted it using one of the tone wavs in the programme. It reduced the 650 kbs mp3 down to a 40 kb midi - but the music was barely recognisable ! So I don't think it will do what I wanted. Maybe it's just not possible. heronviewer |
