I use Open Office on my PC and do not have Excel. Now a member at another forum I visit has created a small program which makes it very handy to make a player/team assessment in a football game I play called Football Manager. I downloaded this program and opened it and it opens up fine in Open Office but I cannot find a way to get it to accept the input from my game. I can gather from other FM forumers that the program works exceptionally well in Excel. My question is, does anyone know of any free program which will make this download work other than Excel which I cannot afford. The best outcome would be a way to make it work in Open Office of course but failing that?.

There are some slight syntax differences between Excel and Open Office Calc. Someone more familiar than I might able to correct the differences.
You could try Softmaker Office Free http://www.softmakeroffice.com/ as an alternative to Calc. Another option is to try it in Microsoft's free Excel in their Online Skydrive office. Many people don't even know it exists. You need to sign up for a Windows Live account (if you use hotmail or another MS service you already have an account then) Once you are logged in, click on Skydrive and you can choose from online versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, or One Note. They are not as full featured as their off-line counterparts, but I think formula functionaily is the same in both versions of Excel. Another alternative might be Zoho spreadsheet https://sheet.zoho.com/login.do?serviceurl=%2Fhome.do
