bottom name line on AVI movie

My apologies for my poor English.
I would like to add a permanent transparent name line when viewiing my AVI movie.

Is there a software that makes automatically the task for me : of course I do not want to write that line on every frame.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

This may sound too simple but have you just tried Windows Movie Maker.

If you have linux (any of its counter-parts) then there is a program called KDEnlive which I have used to do similar things.
