Default will allow me to disable permissions on external hard drive

ok so i'm trying to take out this old hard drive from a laptop.
and put it in an enclosure so i can open the files on another laptop via usb.
the problem is i have permission issues and even when i go to properties/security and change everything to allow for every user to have complete control i still cant access folders i need to access. so i would love a program that just destroys all permissions no matter what.
please post i'm super desperate!
thanks

Hi,

Taking ownership may be the solution to your problem. But you don't state the OS you're on. Depending on it, you can try one of these:
1. Win XP (Home & Pro): this or this.
2. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...menu-in-vista/.
The latter is a registry hack.
Here's one that, according to the site, works on Win XP as well.

If you go for the registry hacks, make a back up of your registry before doing anything. ERUNT is a great choice.

Good luck.

26Dolphins, I had to remove the last link from your post, as it had bad WOT rating. WOT warned me about the page, when I opened it.

Hi,

@Anupam,
Sorry about that, didn't check. The ERUNT GUI can be downloaded from Softpedia, installer or portable.

@versuviusx
Taking ownership should work

If it doesn't what you need or you don't want the changes, the zips include the corresponding undo.
But, as I said in my first post, do backup your registry before trying anything.
