Hi, welcome to the forum
.Sorry to reply late to this thread. I am confused regarding your query. Do you want to convert a music CD, to mp3 files? Converting songs from the music CD to mp3(or other formats) is called ripping, and software which can do this are called CD rippers. Or, do you want to burn mp3 files on your computer to a music CD? Please confirm .

Yes, I want to converting songs from the music CD to mp3.
I have the terminology wrong, sorry. The MP3 format isnt loud enough & was wondering if there was a free player that let me turn up the volume when changing format. My cds are from the 80s when the quality wasnt as good. Thx ahead of time, Miss Miller |

Thanks for posting back. Its more clear now.
So, you want to rip a music CD. I have some suggestions for CD rippers, which have the option to increase the volume. These are : FairStars CD Ripper : http://www.fairstars.com/cdripper/ It is quite easy to use. The option to increase volume can be found via Tools --> Options --> General --> "Adjust volume when extracting" There is another called CDex, found at : http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ Its more difficult to use than FairStars, but it too has the option to normalize the volume, which can be found under Options --> Settings --> Generic --> Normalize Volume There is also Exact Audio Copy, which is excellent as a ripper, but is quite difficult to setup and use than above two, and so I wont recommend it. However, if you can handle it, its the best, particularly in handling damaged media. One of the first two should serve your purpose well. Try them.
