Changes Visible IP

I haven't yet come across a freeware IP changing software.

By this I mean one that changes your 'visible' IP so that I could for example change my IP to one from the UK when I come across a video online that is restricted to the UK.

Many a time I come across the 'this video is not available in your region' message.

- I think you'd need a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service with servers in the UK (or whatever country of interest) to do that.

I used to use a paid one because the service was so important to me. I know free options exist but I haven't tried them. However, I've heard that quality and reliability have improved in the last few years.

Maybe someone who does have experience of free VPNs and can comment here?
