Here is another one to look at. http://www.stoik.com/products/photo/STOIK-Imagic/ I have never seen or noticed a program that will rename the images in the sorted order but it is certainly possible that one of these may do it if they work like Windows explorer. In Windows explorer try organizing a few in the order you want. Select all of them, then rename the first one. All of the others should be renamed in sequential order.

You should check out fotobounce software application at www.fotobounce.com. Its an easy photo-organizing software with face recognition.It may be what your looking for.

Sorry I didn't see this before. Several free image viewers can do that kind of sorting and renaming, but my favourite for the task is FastStone. You just drag the files around as desired, then select all, press F2, fill in the rename template and clic OK.
