Default Sync iPod without iTunes

Hello,

Does anyone know of a freeware program or Windows Media Player plugin that will allow syncing an iPod without the need for iTunes?

Someone I know finds iTunes difficult and wants something a bit easier to use.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul, software/plugins are there, which can manage iPod without the need for iTunes, but personally, I have found that iTunes does a better job. Of course, its a bit bulky, but apart from that, it does a good job I feel.

However, you can take a look at these threads, where other alternatives have been mentioned. The threads are a good read.

Ipod Managers

Easily loads MP3's onto my IPOD

In the second thread, you can find an article link in my post, where you can get rid of extra bloat of iTunes. I have done that, so I can say it works, and is good.

You will find links to two more threads in my same post. Read them too.

Link by Sope in first thread is worth reading too.

You are welcome. Sharepod is the best of the lot, I must say. I too tried it, and liked it. Although, I use iTunes now, because it simply works the best. I follow the debloat guide to install it, without all the extras that are not needed.

Hi Anupam. Are you able to direct me to the path of this debloat guide you refer to? I have never heard of such a guide before and it would interest me greatly.

Cheers

I tried itunes briefly, it stuck so much crap on my machine, splattering files everywhere, programs doing god knows what, it was removed quickly [but not easily] and I would not ever even think of using such insidious and odious malware ever again. Apple is great and very easy to use as long as you do things exactly the way they want you to.
