adding columns and rows

IS there an easy way to add columns and/or rows of numbers without using spreadsheet programs

MathPad may be able to do it. It does work with text files. You would still need to format it all correctly. http://pubpages.unh.edu/~mwidholm/MathPad/

Thank you for your reply. MathPad works on Macintosh, will it work on Vista or XP.
