Hi,
Is there a program or an easy way to search/google just a few chosen sites. I often come across a program I'm interested and like to see if that program is available for download via other sites and what reviews/opinons are available on other sites I frequent, especially Major Geeks ( because that site is unmetered by my ISP.) It would save a lot of time if I could just search 4 or 5 of my favorite sites at once rather than having to visit each site and use its search tool. Cheers, |

For Google there is Custom Search Engin. You can create your own search engine that just searches the sites you define. http://www.google.com/cse/manage/create

Thanks for the reply. I had a look at Google's Custom Search Engine and it appears I would have to have a website in order to use it. That's not what I'm after.
I had a look at Google's 'Advanced Search' and it has an option to 'Search within a site or domain', however it only gives results for one domain. I tried using a semi-colon between domain names but it still only gave results for the first domain. Also found a comment about about a toolbar that has the function '...Lushe allows you to easily build a list of your favourite sites, and then search only those sites using google...', however its WOT rating is very poor so I will not enter that site. Any ideas anyone? Last edited by Epsilon; 05. Apr 2011 at 02:06 PM. |
