Default Capture a series of frame snapshots from video

Hi,

I'm looking for software that can auto capture a series of frame snapshots from video files like mpeg 2. I want to be able to capture say every 5 or 10 second etc and have the captured image as jpg or png or similar commonly used image files.

I have done this in the past but cannot remember what program I used.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Cheers,

I was going to suggest Avidemux, a surprisingly powerful video editor, but it only allows you to capture the stills from the whole or an interval of the video. You might try using it and converting to a really slow frame rate, then saving the frames of the whole movie. I am going to go try this, maybe it will work, back soon.

You can try this one.

Video to JPG converter :

From the features given, I think it might serve your purpose.

^^ Better go with the above, while I think it is doable with Avidemux, it isn't obvious how and I don't have time to wrestle it into submission, plus, I just downloaded that one, looks like a great solution for such tasks.

Video to JPG converter sounds like it'll do the job nicely.

Thanks a lot
