I am using WinPatrol ver 15 and find it a very useful program for controlling startup programs. I find that a number of programs (eg MagicJack) can load only <after> an internet connection is up and running. In the current sequence of startup my internet is among the last programs to show up in the System Tray. Consequently the entire startup process is delayed till my internet gets connected. Is it possible to move the internet connecting program so that it starts up earlier than most of the other startup programs? Or, will I have to use some other free software utility to control the startup sequence?
Thanks Mikey |

Not sure if you can order the sequence of starting up the programs. But as an alternative, you can push those programs which you want to start up slightly later into "Delayed Start", part of the features available to WinPatrol.

Im using a different program called startup delayer.. It does exactly what it says.
You set the time that you would like that program to start up. i have some programs that i rarely use or want to run in the background running at 5mins after my computer starts up. and have them run in the system tray so i no when they start without any interuption. It offers 2 setting visible so you see startup-delayer working or invisible so you dont see it. It does start up with your computer but ends once the last program has started up. http://www.r2.com.au/software.php?pa...how=startdelay |
