I do not recommend registry cleaner, as they can cause more problems than they will actually solve. A few registry entries in the registry won't take up much space. IMO, unless you are a computer expert, and you understand what you are doing... you should not handle registry, and use registry cleaners. Even experts advise against them. Although, registry cleaner of CCleaner is considered to be a very safe one... but still, I would not recommend registry cleaners at all. Maybe that's what caused the problems. Once MC had shared some article, or he shared information that said that defragging daily can actually affect performance. So, it would be better to defrag once in two weeks, or one week. To be honest, I also have not used disk image anytime. So, I really do not have any idea how they work. But, for purpose such as yours, where you experiment with new softwares, disk imaging would be a good thing. I intend to use disk image sometime, and see how it works... because it can be really useful, efficient, and fast way of having a backup, and also getting a system up and running. For now, I also take backups of my documents, pics, softwares, music, etc. manually to another hard disk, or pen drive .

@AST: First of all, I'd agree with Anupam on the registry cleaning and disk defragging. Also, don't bother using 2 defraggers, it's an overkill and they defrag in different ways.
As for the disk imaging: please read this article:http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...ng-program.htm Unless you're the type that doesn't care about backups (which doesn't seem to be the case), you will find that drive imaging is an indispensable tool. Don't rely on one image too much though and always verify, because there can be corruption. |
