I'm looking for a zip program that unzips totally in one shot without going to the command line. In other words if I unzip a package like stuff.zip with 50 folders in it, some with 3 folders in, some of those with zips in, it will recurse all subdirectories and unzip anything inside as well.
You can do this with a command line switch but I prefer the GUI. I've got 7-zip, Quickzip, Filzip etc and it's probably in one of those, I just need help to find it... |

I use 7Zip - I select all the files I want unzipped in Windows Explorer and right click, then select the option "Extract to "*\"
You can configure what shows up in the context menu by opening the 7Zip File Manager. Click on Tools/Options/Plugins/7Zip/Options/System Tab. There are check boxes next to all the options, the one that's caled "Extract to <Folder>" (minus quote marks) will extract any zip file into its own folder. 7Zip creates the folders as it unzips files. I hope that's what you wanted. ____________________________ Rhiannon |

After all that "email linked to user name" stuff settles down I'll change it back. I don't recognize that user name as me when I see it.

OK, thanks for that 7-zip advice Mango, er Nomad, um Rhiannon.
Will give it a try. [edit] Recursive unzip is what I need, guess that fixes it then. Last edited by chris.p; 06. Nov 2009 at 02:31 AM. |
