Default "More Powerful" Office Software

I have seen it written in a lot of places about how online suites like google docs are less powerful and lacking features when compared with native office suites. However I have not been able to locate any specifics on this. Does anyone here know of specific functionality that is lacking in online suites?

I am a moderate user of google docs, openoffice, and microsoft office, depending on what computer I am working on and I can't find any difference in capability with any of these word processors or presentations, and the only lacking feature I can find in gdocs spreadsheets is that trendline calculations are a little less automated. How about any of you?

A good question.

My sister who is secretary may be able to answer that question. In fact I wonder how many people actually use this type of software to its full potential?

Do you really care? I'd look at the differences but it's not worth the bother unless I needed a feature or couldn't do something I wanted to do.

Google Docs has only just got hidden gridlines in the spreadsheet. I'm pretty sure that Multiplan and Visicalc had it a quarter of a century ago. I know Lotus 123 did.

It didn't have A3 print size either?

Etc. Etc.

You've only got to look at the lastest enhancements to see what was recently missing:

For word processing functions, like outlining, adding tables and such, online processors usually have it covered. They usually lack functions like macro recording, mail merging, and other such things. I really like Adobe Buzzword. I think it looks and feels much better than google docs of zoho. Unfortunately it does not support international characters, but for your everyday English it works great. The strange thing is that it is hard to find where to sign in to use it. It is found at Acrobat.com https://acrobat.com/SignIn.html

Thankyou for helping me out and you're right Remah, it's not something I should really care about unless I ran into an issue. I was mostly just curious but I'll definitely be giving Adobe buzzword a shot.
