Default Sneaky adware bundling with Foxit Reader

If you like Foxit Reader, and are using it, you should read the article below, to avoid adware being installed on your system. As pointed out by the article, if you are not careful enough, and do not pay proper attention to the wordings, adware can be installed on your system even when you choose to opt out. The article describes it very well, and tells how to avoid it :

A better option to Foxit Reader is PdfXchange Viewer. For general uses, Sumatra Pdf Reader is good too. Its lightweight, but still efficient.

In the Comments section, there's this:

Or you could just download the .msi installer instead of the .exe installer which omits all that bundled stuff anyway, job done
Any idea what that is?

I haven't tried it, and I do not use Foxit Reader, but according to the comment, it seems like the .msi installer for Foxit Reader might not come bundled with adware. So, instead of the .exe, it would be good to download the .msi setup.

The .msi installer comes with no adware, it's clean - I know as my brother's on Foxit Reader.

I too downloaded the .msi version and have no problems.

Here's a not too happy review of Foxit Reader 4:
Foxit Reader stumbles into version 4

So let's see. Meanwhile I've set the firewall rules to block Foxit from accessing the net (just in case).

It's clear that the review is based on using the .exe installer. It also does not mention that there's an .msi one which is clean of all this stuff.

I can confirm that if you install the msi. installer, you wont get anything
bundled with the installation. Its clean of adware. Its like a slim version
without the toolbar.
