Do you have a new computer with its own system and you want to move the programs and your data files over? You really can't move programs that way, you will need to re-install. If you mean to move the whole system with installed programs, then cloning the drive over to the new computer can be done, though there is considerable chance of driver issues that may or may not be easily remedied. Plus, you'll have licensing issues if you do not have a full retail version of windows, assuming it is windows. Linux will move much more easily, though you can't be sure till you get in their and do it.
Any of the partition mangers can clone your drive, see: http://www.techsupportalert.com/cont...on-manager.htm If all you need to do is copy the files over, there is a wide variety of ways to do this, like a thumb drive, network transfer, floppy disk [I don't know why it amuses me so much to put that in], google docs, email them to yourself, etc. If this isn't really what you need, please get back with more specifics of what it is you are trying to do

I want to try and move programs fROm on old samsung laptop windows 7 pro to a new samsung laptop with windows 7 ultimate. I have seen [commercial product reference removed] and PICKMEAPP and am wondering of they work or if there are any other programs that might work?

My recommendation is to copy or transfer the data files (documents, pictures, music, etc.) but bite the bullet and re-install any needed programs. In my experience, moving programs is very complex and seldom works.

Won't recommend PickMeApp. Its in beta first of all. Secondly, its available only for registered users, and each download generates a unique ID, and all this seems dicy to me.
Further, I suspect that the product won't be free once it comes out of beta, as indicated here : http://www.pickmeapp.com/faq#n13

I'm with kendall on this, and it really is good to reinstall once in a while, and it doesn't take too much time. You might want to check out the ninite folk, then have a great array of programs that they can manage to install for you automatically, I've used it 4 or 5 times and it all went without a hitch, no extraneous stuff getting installed. If you are in the habit of laying waste you your systems regularly, this is really handy.
