i see now. ccleaner doesn't shred cache and cookies, just deletes them like the recycle bin? what method of wiping does ccleaner use, dod?

is there anyway i can keep chromes cache and cookies from never collecting onto my pc? i don't like chrome keeping track of everything i look at for one reason. i have a private blog with personal photos of myself that my family nor friends know about. i want to keep it that way. a couple of my friends are good with computers, and if im able to pull up personal cached pictures of myself just from visiting my blog, who knows how easy it is for them to see my pictures. even though i use that blog, im not yet confident enough to tell my friends or family. they consider me a good person and if they find out im doing that, my whole life could change for the worst.

CCleaner has several different overwrite methods in the disk wipe.

In general, any data that is stored on disk is recoverable with the right tools even if the data isn't saved as a complete file. As most programs don't wipe their temporary files, they just delete them, then you would have to wipe their data space after exiting. I'm not sure how virtualizers delete their virtual drives but that might be one option to look at.

I'm not sure about how you'd do what you want in Chrome. I'll leave it for someone with more knowledge of Chrome.
