Hello there,
I have been trying to download xtrphogrades5 from the URL in the email I got on 10th of Nov. This Graphics Package Was $90 But It's Free Until 24th November. I should mention that my broadband has a max dl speed of 256kps. The graphics file is a 365 Mb in size. The download starts fine but gets to 50 or 60 Mb and crashes, and won't restart. From suggestions from others I have tried two different download managers, FDM and Orbit. They both downloaded about 2.5 megabytes and then stopped downloading with the message Download Completed? I would appreciate any help, thanks ecoll |

Try another browser first
Run TCP optimizer if above solution does not work http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php Last thing, Maybe your ISP shuts down connection

That's strange, I just tried downloading the file with Orbit Downloader, and it works well.. I downloaded up to 5 MB, and there was no problem. I stopped the download after that, because I do not want the program.. I downloaded only as a test.
Maybe your connection breaks often? That's the only thing that I can think of. Also, if the connection breaks, then the download in Orbit Downloader stops, and the download becomes inactive. So, try again, and see if the download is there in the "Inactive" section, which you can see in the left hand side of Orbit Downloader window. Start it again from there, and it will go to the "Downloading" window. Since a download manager is supported by the download, Orbit or any other download manager should be able to download the file.

Hi All,
thanks kindly for all your help, I managed to download it last night. The suggestion to use a download manager was the first thing to work. The second thing trying another browser, ie7, using FDM a message came up saying the download had no resume option. I have the 'sleep and hibernation' settings turned off, which does'nt allow the PC to stop any downloads. The other thing I should mention is that I was using Firefox and I was wondering if the download manager in Firefox was conflicting with FDM or Orbit. Again thanks kindly for your help, ecoll. |

Did you try TCP optimizer?
If problem persists you should try to perform a "sustained ping" to verify you are not getting disconnected Open a Command prompt and type: ping google.com -t a couple of hours, then press CTRL+C to stop it and check if there are lost packets. You can paste results here or a screen capture if not familiarized.
