Default Unable to access windows and unable to re-install

Hey everyone,

My girlfriend has had her computer for well over a year now. Recently it's been crashing alot, mostly with the bluescreen, but on occasion just freezing.
Errorcode on bluescreen is: ***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

Recently it has been impossible to enter windows, so we figured it'd be best to re-install windows. All we have is a windows XP CD, which is fine.

But when I put in the CD, it crashes with the same blue screen, I googled the errorcode and I found out that alot of people has had simmilar issues, and fixed it by going into BIOS and changing SATA mode from AHCI to IDE, but i cant find anything in BIOS that allows me to do so..

Here's a couple of the links I found on google, with suggestions on how to fix it.

You May want to first run a Memory Testing Utility from a rescue CD. More information on how to create a rescue CD can be found at this website. http://www.techsupportalert.com/crea...-rescue-cd.htm Another good place to look for making a rescue CD can be found here: http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page

Hope this helps
