Default Google Search Showing Old results

I don't know what is wrong with Google Search. I thought it had improved , but for me , Google search is getting worse. Search results are from years 2003 and up. More old ones than up-to-date ones. I don't know what is wrong , but Google is getting pretty bad in not rendering appropriate and up to date search results.

I am seriously thinking of going with another search provider . I have been with Google a long time , but they are really frustrating me lately.

Is there a reason for this ?

If this is in the wrong forum , will someone please change it ?

Thank you

Yes there is a reason for this. The longer the Internet is in existence, the wider the date range will be. I can understand your frustration if you are doing a lot of searches that are date sensitive, but by default Google does not return results based on how recent the information is, but rather based on keyword ranking. This is the way it is intended to be and should be.

However, you can very easily filter results based on date using the tools on the left hand side bar. This helps your search be much more precise time wise. This is also much better than Google trying to guess at what date range you might want.

To use it just do a search, then look over on the left side-bar for the lable that says "Show search tools." Click it, and then you will be able to filter your results by the last "hour" "day" "week" "month" "year" or a "custom range."

Out of interest, you can filter DuckDuckGo results by adding "sort:date" (without the quotes) to then end of your query, such as free antivirus sort:date.
