Unable to filter data in the report

I am having difficulty using ad hoc parameters in my report. I'm also having problems getting the data that does come over to filter. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks

It is very difficult to understand your problem without sufficient details.

Which report it is.. what ad hoc parameters... what data? Which application? Is it even a software you are talking about?

Without all the details, we won't be able to provide any help. So, please give some more details.
